Please join us in commemorating the opening of the film "For The Bible Tells Me So" in the city. Through the experiences of five average Christian American families, For the Bible Tells Me So demonstrates how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay or lesbian child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, this documentary provides an unprecedented opportunity to dig deeper into a vital issue confronting the church and society.

There will be a special "Talk Back" session following the 3:00pm showing on Sunday, October 21. The discussion will be hosted by, Carl Evans, Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at USC and Tom Summers, Methodist minister and former hospital chaplain and director of clinical pastoral education with SC Department of Mental Health will host the discussion.

In addition, BGLSA at USC will also be promoting the Monday October 22, 2007 6:00pm show time to their members followed by their weekly meeting directly afterwards. At this meeting, students are encouraged to discuss the documentary. Please contact the coordinator for further inquiries.
